Happy Hens, happy eggs.

Moorabool Valley Eggs began in 1965 by the Colla family who migrated from Holland. The three of brothers, Guido, Paul and Vincent took over the family farm and purchased an existing 10-acre egg farm on the Bellarine Peninsula, in the historic town of Queenscliff Victoria. What followed in the 1980’s, was planned expansion onto the mainstream egg production and building their state-of-the-art facility in Meredith.

The Colla family’s core values of diversity, respect, integrity, vision and eggcellence reflect in the quality, fresh eggs they deliver.

Check out some egg-citing facts:

A delicious protein fix.

Eggs don’t just taste good, they’re packed with protein. A single egg contains about 6.3 grams of high-quality protein. The main functions of proteins in the body are to build, strengthen and repair or replace things, such as tissue.

Get your Omega 3.

Eggs contain omega-3, short for omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. These “essential fats” play an important role in the way our cell membranes work.

Eggs are super satisfying.

Studies have found eating eggs can make you feel full for longer by increasing a hormone that helps you feel satisfied after eating and delaying the rate at which food leaves the stomach.

How to scramble the best eggs every time.

Use a fork to whisk eggs so they don’t get too frothy. Adding water to the mix creates lighter, fluffier scrambled eggs. Don’t cook too high, use a gentle heat so they don’t dry out. Don’t over stir, keep big folds. Remove from heat before they’re fully cooked as they keep cooking in the pan.
