Hard Boiled Easter Bunny Eggs Recipe

How to Make Hard Boiled Easter Bunny Eggs

Method

  1. Boil the eggs for 10 minutes then immediately plunge into cold, running water.
  2. Once completely cool, peel the eggs. Then slice a small piece off the bottom of the egg, to allow it to sit upright.
  3. To make the ears, cut the watermelon into 5mm slices and then use a teardrop cutter and cut out ears. Round off edges with a knife to give an ear shape (or carefully use a knife to shape the watermelon). To attach, insert toothpicks into the ears and place the other end carefully into the top of the eggs.
  4. Use a skewer or toothpick to form small holes in the more pointed end of the eggs and slot in lengths of chives to form whiskers. Carefully cut the olive halves into pointed pieces. Cut 2 small crosses into the eggs where the eyes will be and pop in the olive pieces. (You may need some mayonnaise to help stick.)
  5. Carefully slice the cucumber into small strips. Place a small dot of mayonnaise onto the back of the top of the cucumber, to attach to the egg. Ensure the cucumber is thin, as the carrot needs to attach to this also.
  6. Cut the carrot slices into quarters. Carefully slice the cucumber into small pieces. Place a small dot of mayonnaise onto the back of the top of the cucumber to attach to the egg.
  7. Take a toothpick, cut in half to attach through cucumber as well and into the egg. Place in fridge and serve when needed.
  8. These can be made ahead of time or served immediately.
