All of our actions, big or small, affect the environment. ALDI has made several commitments to minimise the energy we consume and the emissions we generate.

Renewable Energy

In August 2020, ALDI became the first Australian supermarket to commit to 100% renewable electricity by the end of 2021. In June, 2021, we achieved this goal 6 months ahead of schedule. Learn how ALDI achieved the transition to clean power.

Zero Waste to Landfill

Australia wastes more than 7.3 million tonnes of food every year. ALDI has therefore committed to sending zero waste to landfill by 2025. There are several measures in place to ensure that we are working towards meeting our goal.

Sustainable Farming

Sustainable farming is important to us at ALDI. We can say with confidence that all palm oil in our ALDI-label products is certified sustainable. ALDI shelves are also stocked with Fairtrade Coffee and Cocoa. Learn more.
