ALDI Australia is proud to partner with Camp Quality

Camp Quality

Why ALDI is partnering with Camp Quality

ALDI is passionate about helping Camp Quality improve the well-being of Australian children and their families, impacted by a cancer diagnosis.

Since launching our partnership in May 2020, ALDI, along with our employees, suppliers and customers have donated over $6 million to Camp Quality, enabling over 5,662 kids facing cancer to attend a Camp Quality recreational program, where they will get the chance to be kids again and create positive memories that can change their cancer story.

ALDI Australia is proud to partner with Camp Quality, to support their programs and services that help families build optimism and resilience through community, education and fun. Camp Quality is there for kids (0-15) dealing with their own cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a sibling, parent, or carer, every step of the way.

We’re also proud to be the major partner of Camp Quality’s national fundraising programs, Big Ride For Little Kids and Big Walk For Little Kids, as well as delivering employee and customer programs to raise funds and awareness of the work of Camp Quality.

More about Camp Quality

Camp Quality brings positivity, fun and laughter back into the lives of kids facing cancer. Their programs and services help families build optimism and resilience through community, education and fun. We are there for kids (0-15) dealing with their own cancer diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a sibling, parent, or carer, every step of the way.

Camp Quality, with the assistance of KPMG, recently conducted a Social Impact Study to understand the impact for children and families attending a Camp Quality Kids’ Camp. This study found the key outcomes included:

77% of children experienced improved self-confidence as a result of attending a camp.

89% of children said access to fun, exciting activities is a very valuable part of the camp experience.

September is Camp Quality Month

During September, ALDI was involved in several fundraising initiatives for our national charity partner Camp Quality. These included the sale of specially marked Special Buys™ products, where donations are made for every product sold, it’s also where customers could  purchase the exclusive Bucket Hats that were on sale.

Camp Quality Month at ALDI drives awareness of the work that Camp Quality does, and where these activities, plus donations, raise much needed funds for children facing the trauma of a cancer diagnosis. During Camp Quality Month you could also make tax-deductible donations instore, from $2.

During Camp Quality Month, people could also participate in the annual Big Walk for Little Kids event, or purchase a Bucket Hat instore and participate in the annual Bucket Hat Day event.

However you choose to support Camp Quality, every dollar and every purchase makes a good difference to lives of kids and their families facing cancer.

For one day only, ALDI Australia offered something it’s never done before in its 22 years of operations – a bag packing service!

Matty J, TV personality, was appointed ALDI’s first Chief Packing Officer. After a rigorous training session, we firmly believed he was ready to rise to the challenge and was confident in putting his packing skills be put to the test..

Then on Saturday 16th September, ALDI Brookvale hosted a special event whereby Matty J headed up a team of celebrity bag packers, raising awareness for Camp Quality and helping to raise additional funds..

In ALDI’s Good Different fashion, customers who chose to take up the bag packing offer by Matty J (alongside his ‘pack’ of Pro Packers including former MasterChef contestant and social media sensation Steph De Sousa) were able to sit back in the VIPacking lounge. The cherry on top of having Matty J pack the weekly shop? Customers were served a barista made, award-winning Lazzio coffee brew. Now that’s a Saturday grocery shop well executed!
