How to make a Ginger Spiced Hot Chocolate


  1. Warm your milk of choice in a small saucepan over a medium heat. Sift in the cacao powder and stir until dissolved.
  2. Add the ground ginger and stir through the honey.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness to your liking.
  4. To serve, pour into 2 warm glasses or mugs.
  5. Top with the whipped cream and sprinkle with shaved chocolate and a small pinch of ground ginger.
  6. Add a few ginger matchsticks, if using, then serve.

Tip: The hot chocolate base can be made ahead of time and simply warmed up to serve.

Optional: For a spicier version, try adding extra spices such as vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom or star anise.
