How to Make Hot Cross Sausage and Cheese Breakfast


  1. With a sharp knife, cut the skins from the sausages and discard.
  2. Mix the sausage meat together and divide into four balls.
  3. With the back of your hand squash them down to make patties.
  4. Peel and slice the red onion. In a large frying pan, sauté the patties in olive oil for 12 - 14 mins, turning as you cook.
  5. Add the red onion slices halfway through the cooking time and fry alongside the patties.
  6. Split the hot cross buns in half and lightly toast.
  7. Serve each bun filled with a sausage patty, grated cheddar cheese and some caramelized onion slices.
  8. Serve immediately.
