How to Make Hot Cross Sausage and Cheese Breakfast
Method
- With a sharp knife, cut the skins from the sausages and discard.
- Mix the sausage meat together and divide into four balls.
- With the back of your hand squash them down to make patties.
- Peel and slice the red onion. In a large frying pan, sauté the patties in olive oil for 12 - 14 mins, turning as you cook.
- Add the red onion slices halfway through the cooking time and fry alongside the patties.
- Split the hot cross buns in half and lightly toast.
- Serve each bun filled with a sausage patty, grated cheddar cheese and some caramelized onion slices.
- Serve immediately.
