Noodle Beef Burger Recipe
How to make a Noodle Beef Burger
Method
- Boil the noodles for 2 minutes, breaking them up with a fork to loosen. You can discard the seasoning sachet. Drain well.
- Line a large flat tray with baking paper. Place a 9-10cm round cutter on the tray and fill with an eighth of the noodles. Push the noodles down to compact them a little, then gently remove the ring, leaving a nice little, even noodle ‘bun’. Repeat with the remaining noodles – you should have 8 in total. Refrigerate for an hour.
- Place the oil into a large frying pan over a medium heat. Pan fry the noodle buns for 2-3 minutes each side or until nicely golden. Don’t move them around too much, they’re quite delicate. Drain on kitchen paper and set aside. Cover loosely with foil.
- For the beef, place a frying pan or chargrill over a medium-high heat. Form the beef patties into discs a little bigger than the buns and brush with oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes each side or until cooked through. Place on a plate and brush both sides with teriyaki marinade. Sprinkle the top with sesame seeds.
- Place 4 noodle buns onto a board and top with a meat patty. Add the cabbage and pickles. Drizzle with chilli sauce (if using) and top with the remaining buns.
Tip: Be gentle with the noodle buns when handling them.
Optional: You can swap out the beef for grilled salmon, chicken or tofu.
