Noodle Beef Burger Recipe

How to make a Noodle Beef Burger

Method

  1. Boil the noodles for 2 minutes, breaking them up with a fork to loosen. You can discard the seasoning sachet. Drain well.
  2. Line a large flat tray with baking paper. Place a 9-10cm round cutter on the tray and fill with an eighth of the noodles. Push the noodles down to compact them a little, then gently remove the ring, leaving a nice little, even noodle ‘bun’. Repeat with the remaining noodles – you should have 8 in total. Refrigerate for an hour.
  3. Place the oil into a large frying pan over a medium heat. Pan fry the noodle buns for 2-3 minutes each side or until nicely golden. Don’t move them around too much, they’re quite delicate. Drain on kitchen paper and set aside. Cover loosely with foil.
  4. For the beef, place a frying pan or chargrill over a medium-high heat. Form the beef patties into discs a little bigger than the buns and brush with oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes each side or until cooked through. Place on a plate and brush both sides with teriyaki marinade. Sprinkle the top with sesame seeds.
  5. Place 4 noodle buns onto a board and top with a meat patty. Add the cabbage and pickles. Drizzle with chilli sauce (if using) and top with the remaining buns.

Tip: Be gentle with the noodle buns when handling them.
Optional: You can swap out the beef for grilled salmon, chicken or tofu.
