Poached Pear Yogurt Bowl Recipe
How to make a Poached Pear Yogurt Bowl
Method
- Place the wine, honey, star anise and vanilla into a small saucepan, placed over a high heat. Once it starts to bubble, add the pears and reduce the heat to medium-low. Place a small plate over the pears to submerge them in the liquid. Simmer for 45 minutes, turning them once or twice during poaching.
- Remove the poached pears and set them aside to cool. Turn the heat up to high and reduce the liquid for 5 minutes or until thick and syrupy. Check for sweetness. If you prefer a little more sweetness you can add a bit more honey to taste. Set aside to cool.
- When ready to serve, divide the yogurt amongst 4 small plates. Halve the pears and place 2 halves on each plate.
- Drizzle over the reduced liquid and top with the macadamia nuts.
Tip: This makes a great prepare-ahead dinner party dessert. Pears can be poached up to 2 days earlier.
Optional: You can serve the pears and syrup warm if preferred. If so, try serving with a scoop of frozen yogurt or ice cream.
