How to make Healthy Nam Jim Jaew

Prep Time: 10 minutes        |        Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup Bramwells honey
  • 2 tbsp tamarind concentrate
  • 3½ tbsp Asia Green Garden fish sauce
  • 2½ tbsp lime juice
  • 1-2 tbsp water 
  • 2 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup chopped coriander, plus extra leaves to serve
  • 1 or 2 fresh red chillies, chopped
  • Roasted chicken pieces, to serve
  • 2 cucumbers, roughly chopped, to serve

Method

  1. Combine honey and tamarind into a small mixing bowl and stir until smooth. Add fish sauce, lime juice and water. Taste and adjust the flavour with lime or honey.
  2. Stir in spring onions, herbs and chilli. Serve with roasted chicken pieces, cucumber chunks and extra coriander leaves.

Tip: You can buy tamarind concentrate at Asian speciality stores. This sauce relies on the tamarind for the sour taste.
