How to make Healthy Nam Jim Jaew
Prep Time: 10 minutes | Serves: 4
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup Bramwells honey
- 2 tbsp tamarind concentrate
- 3½ tbsp Asia Green Garden fish sauce
- 2½ tbsp lime juice
- 1-2 tbsp water
- 2 spring onions, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup chopped coriander, plus extra leaves to serve
- 1 or 2 fresh red chillies, chopped
- Roasted chicken pieces, to serve
- 2 cucumbers, roughly chopped, to serve
Method
- Combine honey and tamarind into a small mixing bowl and stir until smooth. Add fish sauce, lime juice and water. Taste and adjust the flavour with lime or honey.
- Stir in spring onions, herbs and chilli. Serve with roasted chicken pieces, cucumber chunks and extra coriander leaves.
Tip: You can buy tamarind concentrate at Asian speciality stores. This sauce relies on the tamarind for the sour taste.
