How to make Honey, Soy and Garlic Glazed Salmon with Rice
Prep Time: 20 minutes | Cook Time: 25 minutes | Serves: 2
Ingredients
- 2 The Fishmonger skinless salmon fillets
- ⅔ cup Colway honey soy marinade
- 1 cup Imperial Grain long grain rice
- 1 tbsp Pure Vita sunflower or canola oil
- Toasted sesame seeds and a thinly sliced spring onion
Method
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to packet directions with a 2:1 water-to-rice ratio. Keep warm.
- Place the salmon fillets in a dish and pour a third of a cup of the marinade over them. Turn to coat. Let the salmon marinate for 10 minutes (or longer if you have time).
- Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium-low heat.
- Pan-fry the salmon – cook one side for 4-5 minutes, then flip and cook the other side for 2-4 minutes. The salmon should char slightly.
- Remove the salmon from the pan.
- Add the remaining marinade to the pan and heat to form a glaze. Add a splash of water if it becomes too thick. Season with salt if needed, then turn off the heat.
- Divide the cooked rice between 2 bowls. Top with the glazed salmon and drizzle any remaining glaze over the top.
- Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and spring onion. Serve with seasonal vegetables.
