How to make Beef and Lentil Spaghetti Bolognese


  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add onion, garlic and chilli (optional) and cook for 3 minutes, stirring regularly. Add carrot and cook for a further 3 minutes or until soft.
  2. Add mince and cook for 4 minutes or until browned – break up any lumps with a wooden spoon.
  3. Stir in pasta sauce, tomato paste, lentils, worcestershire sauce and herbs and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a gentle simmer and cook for 15 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
  4. Meanwhile cook pasta as per packet instructions, drain and retain a couple of tablespoons of pasta water and stir back into pasta. Set aside.
  5. Once sauce is cooked, stir in spaghetti and toss to combine.

Optional: Serve with your favourite salad
