How to make Star Anise Ginger Chicken


  1. Place a frying pan over a medium-high heat. Add the oil and pan fry the chicken until nicely browned.
  2. Remove the chicken, add the ginger and garlic paste and cook until fragrant.
  3. Add the orange juice, stock, soy sauce, honey and star anise and cook until bubbling.
  4. Add the chicken back to the pan, cover with a lid and turn the heat down to a gentle simmer. Cook for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Mix the cornflour with 2 teaspoons water until combined. Transfer the chicken to a serving plate and add the cornflour mix to the sauce. Cook until the sauce thickens. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Pour the sauce over the chicken and sprinkle with the coriander leaves and shredded ginger. Serve immediately.
