How to make Baked Eggs Shakshuka


  1. Heat oil in heavy-based frypan over medium-high heat. Add onion, garlic and chilli and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the onion becomes soft and translucent.
  2. Dice capsicum and add to pan, cook for a further 2 minutes.
  3. Stir through spices – cumin, paprika and chilli (if using) and combine well.
  4. Reduce heat and add tinned tomatoes and tomato paste. Simmer for 15 minutes, until the sauce becomes thick.
  5. Make small wells in the sauce and add the eggs into each well. Cover the pan and cook for 6-8 minutes or until eggs are cooked to your liking.
  6. Garnish shakshuka with parsley before serving.
