ALDI Gift Cards Terms & Conditions of Use
These Terms and Conditions of Use apply to all ALDI Gift Cards issued by ALDI Stores (A Limited Partnership).
Please read these Terms and Conditions of Use carefully before using the ALDI Gift Card.
“ALDI Stores” means ALDI Stores (A Limited Partnership) (ABN 90 196 565 019) of 1 Sargents Road, Minchinbury, New South Wales 2770.
“Access PIN” means the 4-digit Access PIN printed on the back of the Gift Card.
“Card Balance” means the unspent value of a Card.
“Card Number” means the 28-digit number that appears on the back of your Gift Card.
“Expiry Date” means the date on which the Card has a remaining card value of zero.
“Gift Card” means the ALDI Stores Gift Card that you have purchased or received.
“Remaining Gift Card Value” means, that portion of the initial value loaded onto your Gift Card which is unused and can be accessed by using the Gift Card in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of Use;
A reference to “we” or “us” or “our” is a reference to ALDI Stores (A Limited Partnership).
A reference to “you” or “your” is a reference to the person who is in possession of the Gift Card and is taken to have accepted these Terms and Conditions of Use.
“Store” means, any ALDI Stores supermarket within Australia.
2. Agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of Use
The Gift Card will be activated upon purchase of the Gift Card and may be used at any Store. By purchasing, using or attempting to use the Gift Card you accept and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions of Use.
If you let another person use your Gift Card, you must tell them that they will be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Use
3. Purchasing a Gift Card
The Gift Card can be purchased at any Store. Please make sure that the scratch panel at the back of the card has not been scratched, tampered with or removed.
Your Gift Card will be activated once you pay for the transaction. Gift Cards cannot be purchased with another Gift Card or be reloaded.
There may be a delay between the time you pay for the Gift Card and when the Gift Card is activated. During this time, the Gift Card cannot be used for purchases or any transaction enquiries.
4. Gift Card Purchases
When finalising payment for your goods, the Store assistant will either scan your card at the register or enter the card number manually. If the card number is entered manually, you will then need to enter your Access PIN located on the back of the Gift Card. The value on the Gift Card will be reduced by the transaction value.
No change will be given for any remaining card value on your Gift Card. Any remaining card value may be applied to future transactions.
5. Validity and Expiry of Gift Cards
As long as there’s card balance on your ALDI Gift Card, it will not expire. For Specialty Gift Cards, please refer to individual card partner expiration.
6. Gift Card Balance Enquiries
You can check your Gift Card balance by visiting www.aldi.com.au/giftcards
For Gift Card balance enquiries, you will need to provide your Card Number and Access PIN on your Gift Card when prompted.
7. Transaction Value Exceeding the Gift Card Value
Where the transaction value exceeds the Remaining Gift Card Value, you must pay the amount exceeding the Remaining Gift Card Value by an alternate payment method acceptable to the Store.
8. Gift Card Exclusions
You cannot use your Gift Card to purchase other Gift Cards or any 3rd party cards sold by us.
Your Gift card cannot:
a. be redeemed for cash;
b. be reloaded;
c. be returned for a refund; or
d. have their balances consolidated to a new Gift Card.
9. Lost or Stolen Gift Cards
Keep your Gift Card secure. Your Gift Card should be treated like cash. Anyone holding the Gift Card can use its value to make purchases. Lost or stolen Gift Cards will not be replaced or refunded.
If your Gift Card is damaged, you have reason to believe that an error has occurred or you suspect an unauthorised transaction, immediately report this by calling 13 ALDI (13 25 34). We have no obligation to replace or refund the value of any unauthorised transactions or damaged Gift Cards except to the extent where there has been negligence or fraud by us or any of our employees or the Gift Cards are proven to be faulty or damaged due to the fault of ALDI Stores.
We reserve the right to cancel or place a stop on your Gift Card if:
a. we believe or reasonably suspect that there is an error with the Gift Card; or
b. we believe or reasonably suspect that you have or will use your Gift Card contrary to these Terms and Conditions of Use.
If so, we may either provide a refund or a replacement Gift Card of equivalent value unless we reasonably suspect fraud in relation to a Gift Card. The Gift Card remains our property.
10. Changes to Terms and Conditions of Use
We reserve our right to vary the terms contained in these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time. Changes to these Terms and Conditions of Use will be available at www.aldi.com.au/giftcards or by contacting 13 ALDI (13 25 34).
11. Liability and Complaints
If you have a query or complaint about the Gift Card, please contact 13 ALDI (13 25 34).
Any dispute about goods or services purchased with the Gift Card must be resolved with the Store.
We are not liable for the availability, quality or fitness for purpose of any goods or services purchased with the Gift Card. Except for rights which cannot be excluded, any conditions or warranties implied or imposed by legislation or otherwise are excluded from these conditions of use.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to replacing faulty Gift Cards.
12. Applicable Law
The laws of New South Wales apply to these Terms and Conditions of Use. By purchasing, activating, using or attempting to use your Gift Card you unconditionally submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
